Toluca Lake, CA, San Fernando Valley

Located a block away from the Warner Bros lot is the small community of Toluca lake.  The first home built on the lake shore was in the early 1920s and later became the home of Amelia Earhart.  Once the Warner Bros studio was built in 1928 the lake quickly became surrounded by expensive homes for the Hollywood elite.  Many of the homes in the nieghborhood reflect the Tudor style home which was heavily influenced by storybook style made popular by Hollywood.  You can still drive around what was once Bob Hopes Estate, which is for sale at a whopping 23 Million dollars. (http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/10346-Moorpark-St-Toluca-Lake-CA-91602/20044484_zpid/)   Today the lake is maintained by the Homeowners Association but cannot be seen from the street since so many homes have been built around it.  Toluca lake is also home to the Original Bob’s Big Boy that opened in 1949 and the original International House of Pancakes that opened in 1958 that is now The Continental.  Here are some of the homes you can still see today in this beautiful area of the San Fernando Valley.
